Hotel Stay Experience in Darjeeling – May 2025
I stayed in Darjeeling for two days in May 2025, and here's a summary of my experience at the hotel I chose.
🛏️ Room & Ambience
I stayed in a deluxe room (note: no balconies in this category).
The ambience of both the room and the hotel overall was very good for the price paid.
The room service was prompt and efficient.
🍽️ Food & Dining
The hotel restaurant served tasty and good-quality food.
As a South Indian, I appreciated that we could find at least one South Indian item (like idly, dosa, or rice) during both breakfast and dinner.
Kudos to the kitchen staff for this thoughtful inclusion!
☕ Rooftop Café
The valley view from the rooftop café was decent, although not exactly top-class.
Still, it’s a nice spot to relax with a cup of tea or coffee.
🚿 Water Issues
There were water shortages in the morning on both days of our stay.
One night also saw a water outage.
The hotel staff mentioned a pump issue, but I suspect this might be a recurring problem.
Tip: Keep a bucket of water filled in the bathroom for emergency use, just in case.
✅ Overall Thoughts
Despite the water issues, the overall experience was pleasant. Great service, good food (especially for South Indian travelers), and a cozy atmosphere made the stay worthwhile.
